Education and Empowerment of Girls (A Project)
This project is presently running in five government High schools of Majuli, Assam. Under this project it is being tried for retention of girls in school, their regular attendance, academic achievement and improving their self esteem, and confidence . Several meetings, discussions are initiated with students, teachers, guardians, SMC presidents and members, PRI representatives, members of Matri gots and others to give impetus to girls’ education. Under this project a sponsorship project is started in which few girls studying in class 10th are selected and offered a monthly financial assistance. So far, 35 girls have been covered by this programme.
Webinar
A Webinar on “Relationship of food with good health and wellbeing” in the wake of COVID-19 on September 7, 2021 was jointly organised with Krishak Bandhu , an NGO working primarily with farmers and their families. Besides a sizeable number of members belonging to both the organisations who attended the webinar, it was also attended by many others i.e. home makers, college/university teachers,students,social workers, etc.
